Trey's guitar went WAAAAAAAY the hell outta tune somewhere in DWD (the
ending of this version is the most god awful one **ever** as a result).
Unfortunately, the Tuning Problem wasn't corrected before the YEM. In
fact, YEM begins right outta DWD's remainder. A > in other words.

Therefore, the very opening of this YEM **SUCKS**. Trey recognizes
this and stops playing at first (it was actually quite nice that he
stopped).. but then he comes back in after about ten seconds, I assume
trying to (AGH!!! THIS IS AWFUL!!!! ARGH!!!!!) just deal with it. Oh
my god this SOUNDS TERRIBLE!!! If you can't hear why this sounds
terrible, YOU HAVE NO SENSE OF PITCH!!

The pre-Nirvana section isn't THAT bad, though. Well. Spoke too
soon. This sounds like shit too. Listen to the notes Trey sustains in
the first minute or so (it gets more tolerable). Holy shit. Never
heard a pre-Nirvana segment that sounded THIS AWFUL. People start
cheering in here (did Trey switch guitars at this point?) Nirvana
section is a little sloppy, but at least Trey's guitar isn't out of
tune anymore. Mike's solo section at 4:08 is forlorn-sounding. Kinda
depressing. The pre-charge sounds, if you can believe it, a lil
apprehensive. It doesn't rage like usual. Second shot at The Note is
sustained well, though...

"Boy" at 6:51 after an awe-inspiring scream from Trey. BMGS/WUDMTF
segment is patient, modestly funky (not even close to as good as
11/10/95's YEM, which I listened to earlier today). At 9:05 the
tramps segment begins. Signals from Mike = trampolines in use
(screams from crowd also = trampolines in use and especially = easily
amused fan boys). Just once, instead of jumping on trampolines, they
should skip around the stage like gay '80s vocalists. Or jump up and
down on Brad Sands.

Jam segment at 10:39. Boring. Slow Oye Como Va teasing from Trey
around 13 mins (and in a different key, so you won't hear it). Yawn.
Around 14 minutes, though, the jam picks up considerable steam,
and there's a strong closing jam.. You've all still heard better.
The jam closes well (it really does), notwithstanding.

At 15:28 Bass and Drums kick in (Trey let loose some sustained chord
into the beginning of this section). Mike's solo plays off of a lick
Trey had toyed with earlier in the jam. Cool licks from Mike. Trey's
on that Fisher Price Drum Kit.. Aaaaaahhh. Nice phaaaaaaat licks
from Mike. Patient accompaniment from Fish for the most part (picks it
up towards the end, though, as Mike got more excited). Niiiiiiiice!
Strong B&D definitely.

Closing WUDTMF segment at 17:36. Vocal jam kicks in at 17:53.
Someone mentioned that they say "Find Yourself A New Band" in this
vocal jam. This I can't wait to hear. HOLY SHIIIIIT. If you listen
really carefully, yeah, you can actually make this out. Mike is the
key.

Then you can clearly hear Trey go "BITE ME" a few times. And
then they all begin screaming "I SAID BITE ME!!!!!!" "I SAID BITE
ME!!!!!!" ...And the crowd goes **WILD**, which is cute.

After this, they break back into a mixture of Bite Me and Find
Yourself A New Band vocal jamming.

Excellent vocal jam, but the rest of this YEM is basically a YAWNER.
(I can hear Trey saying "Bite me, fan boy!")

If you find this version impressive, you definitely need to find
yourself a new band. Several, actually. I strongly recommend Zero, or
something jazzy like Grant Green, Larry Young, Miles, Coltrane, Bill
Evans, Hancock, Monk, etc. If you disagree, you can BITE ME.

(oh yeah a 'rating'.. uhhhm.. typical Awesome B 'cause of the VJ :-)

p.s. I'm interested to know how many people reading this have the
11/16/91 YEM as filler on side B of their 10/31/96 second set tape.
Please email me if you have that filler there.
