10/7/94 Stabler Arena, Lehigh U., Bethlehem, PA (Rvwd 3/95) Very standard
opening to this version. Nothing special.
Nothing really after the Ebeneezer lyric, either. The jam is very groovy
and mellow in the beginning, with a spacy, tweezeresque
edge to it. It is a very, VERY eerie version, with lots of slight key
changes occurring frequently. By the 8 and a half min mark,
the jam definitely gets more harsh, but is very repetitive.. it breaks
out into a nice groove after about 30 seconds of noise. The
groove is great, as Tweezer is expected to be. At one point it sounds
like Trey was thinking about going into a Mind Left Body
jam.. it is too bad he changed his mind, because it might have been
slamming! The final climbing jam is very cool with strong
playing from everyone, but nothing special. Really. This just isn't
that great a version. About as "typical" I think, overall, that
Tweezer gets, outside of the fact that it was an Overly Spooky Version
in the beginning of the jam segment. Got to give it a 5.0
average rating. (C+) About a 14 minute version. I know some of you
out there really dig this show, but I'm STILL looking for
something to keep me from recycling it, outside of the fact that it
has the first versions of Guyute, Foreplay and LongTime.
