I know this show was really popular, but I must
confess, I am not a huge fan of either it or the
Tweezer.  Sure, a lot of great tunes were played
(Fee, Stash, Fluff, Tweezer, YEM, Coil, etc.), but
none of the versions really stick out in my mind
(well, the YEM is great).

The beginning lyrics segment of Tweezer  at the
Mullins Center was very, VERY similar to the 4/5
version, and was equally groovy.  The jam segment is
definitely great: strong, swinging theme held by
Trey, with Mike and Page complementing it and adding
their two cents. But this theme doesn't go on as long
as one would like or become more effective.  It
peters out, basically, getting stuck in a dissonant
repetitive quagmire which, in other versions, has
been known to be fantastic, but in this one, sounds
pretty blugggh.  The potential to be awe-inspiring
was there, but it was merely great (i.e., average).
By the time the jam got out of this mode, I was
losing interest fast.  Trey did some funky chordwork,
but didn't rage at all.  Was he distracted?  Soon the
jam just stopped dead and then the dying out end
segment began.  This end segment was definitely not
typical.. it was in a weird key with a different
sorta feel .. the notes were different than usual,
but the slow-dying-out intent was still there.
Still, this ending originality didn't salvage this
version, since the sterile "jam" just didn't cut it.
Nearly 11 and a half minutes (probably same length as
4/5).  4.75 rating (pushaw)  ( the Reprise was
standard..)  Some of you must profusely object, but,
before you do, I encourage you to listen to more 1994
Tweezers.  Especially 4/5/94.  (C)
