jg already posted the setlist, so i shan't reiterate

i had a good time at the show, although the whole concept was a little bit
disappointing from a phish-phan perspective; a good solid 45-50 minutes,
but i
(along with plenty of others) really wished it could go on longer; just
normal,
straight-up phish: no trampolines, no strobes, no minkin, no vacuum, no
signals,
not much of a light show, but some damn good jammin nonetheless (and just
how do
they manage to play so fast during sparkle and still keep it all
together?)

probably the most i've paid to see phish (and that was even by bypassing
ticketbastards and going straight to the box office), and the only
non-general
admission phish show i've ever been too; those are the two main reasons
why i
didn't go to the orpheum show, but i just couldn't bear to go without any
phish
from may until whenever (any guesses as to when they'll return to regular
headline touring? not until oct or nov?)

it was pretty easy to spot a good number of people that were there
primarily to
see phish; a large number of people on the lawn were dancing up a storm,
and
another large number of people were practically motionless, many just
hanging
out on the grass; since i knew i wasn't going to get any kind of decent
view
from where i was, i decided to take advantage of the vast amounts of free
space
and become one of the dancing up a storm crowd; might as well make the
most of
the situation; saw an awful lot of phish shirts throughout the crowd;
actually,
quite a huge number considering that they were only the opening band; kind
of
funny that i saw almost no santana shirts (i think i saw many more dead
shirts
than santana shirts); spotted several PhishNet shirts (an aside personal
note:
to whoever was asking for my e-mail address, but i didn't have a pen or
paper, i
told you to look for a posting with the 'Whatever you do, take care of
your
shoes.' personal name; so here it is)

most of the people i went with weren't too familiar with phish, but on the
whole
they were impressed

i enjoyed santana as well, although i expended most of my energy during
phish;
santana does have an incredible percussion section, especially the dude on
the
bongos

i'll pass along the advice that was posted earlier and proved helpful for
me; if
you're interested in seeing all of phish, get there early; phish started
about 5
minutes early, and word is that they've been starting on time or early all
tour
